Read Bill's story and see if this is happening to you.
Bill had done his annual medical and had been told he was overweight.
His family had a history of heart problems and he decided he needed to take action.
He wasn't interested in dieting but thought it was about time he made use of that bicycle that had been sitting unused in the garage.

The area he lived in had some great bike paths and he knew if he just made the time he would really enjoy this form of exercise. He would be taking off weight at the same time that he was enjoying himself.
Bill had been cycling now for 3 months but had lost NO weight!
He couldn't understand it and was feeling discouraged!
Bill started on our program and he soon understood why he wasn't losing weight!
He had been cycling 3 times a week for about an hour each time.
He travelled at an average speed of 16km per hour. He found out this burned a total of about 1160 calories per week.
What he hadn't registered was that - as a reward to himself for his extra exercise - he stopped off at the end of his bike rides at the local fast food shop for some chips (fries).
These chips contributed a weekly average of 1800 calories - compared to the 1160 calories he burnt in bike riding. No wonder he wasn't losing weight!
He also learnt that even without his chips he had not changed his lifetstyle sufficiently to achieve the weight loss he wanted.
He now knew what he had to do!
